The Industry

What makes Builder Hardware different

Builder hardware is component-heavy manufacturing: a dozen parts in a single handle, several finishes on the same casting, and a process chain — casting, machining, polishing, plating, assembly — that runs through in-house sections and outside vendors. Aligarh and Jalesar know this well. So do we; three of our hardware clients are there.

Where It Breaks

What goes wrong in Builder Hardware without a system

01

Multi-level BOMs

A handle is castings, springs, screws, spindles and packaging. Change one component and the change has to reach every product that uses it.

02

Finish variants

Same casting, six finishes — antique, satin, chrome, PVD. Stock and cost at the finish level is the question that matters.

03

Plating and polishing outside

Components leave for plating and come back. Weight loss, rejection and vendor outstanding are tracked by hand, if at all.

04

Scrap and metal recovery

Brass scrap has real value. Where it goes and how much comes back is rarely measured.

05

Export packing specs

Buyer-specific packaging, labelling and carton rules, with documentation to match.

How The System Handles It

Modules configured for Builder Hardware

Each one answers a problem on the previous list. Take the modules you need; add the rest when the plant is ready.

Multi-Level BOM & Routing

Components, sub-assemblies and finished goods with routes through casting, machining, plating and assembly.

Finish-Wise Inventory

Stock and cost at casting, component and finished-finish level. Know exactly how many chrome versus antique.

Job-Work: Plating & Polishing

Issue by weight and count, receive by weight and count. Loss, rejection and vendor outstanding per challan.

Casting & Scrap Accounting

Metal issued to casting, good castings out, runners and scrap back. Recovery rate per run.

Export Order & Documentation

Buyer packing specs, labels and carton rules applied at packing; export documents from the order.

Quality by Process

Rejections captured at casting, machining, plating and assembly — by reason, so the cause is visible.

In Their Words

From a Builder Hardware plant that runs on it

Not a case study we wrote — what the client said.

Before ERPidex, our reporting and inventory management were completely manual. Today, every process — from purchase to dispatch — is tracked in real time. The automated alerts help us prevent material shortages and production delays. It’s not just software, it’s like having an extra manager in our factory.

Questions We Get

On the first call, Builder Hardware manufacturers usually ask

If yours is not here, ask it — we would rather answer than guess.

Multi-level BOMs are standard: a finished handle contains sub-assemblies, which contain castings and bought-out parts. Change a component once and every BOM that uses it updates.

Finish is a dimension of the item, not a separate product. Stock, cost and orders work at the finish level, so you can see chrome and antique separately while sharing the same casting upstream.

As job-work by weight and count. Material goes out on a challan, comes back against it, and the system reports loss, rejection and what each vendor still holds.

Yes. Metal issued to casting, good output, runners and scrap returned are all recorded per run, giving you a recovery rate and a scrap stock that can be sold or re-melted with its value known.
